Fire Strikes in the Huntington Section of Waldorf

Just after 11:00 A.M. Waldorf Volunteers and surrounding area departments responded with 36 personnel to the 3000 BLK of Flanders Court in Waldorf. E31 arrived in minutes reporting "smoke showing" from the front and immediately reported "fire in the rear" during the 360 size-up. "Tactical Command" was established by E31 who began the attack on the fire in the rear of the structure, and assigned RE12 as 2nd due to stretch their attack line through the front door. Battalion Chief 1 arrived, assumed "Command" and assigned arriving units tasks to the incident. Fire now through the roof on this advanced fire, command ordered all personnel out of the structure. A quick and aggressive attack from the outside began, in minutes, units resumed an interior attack. Chief 1B (Mayhew) was assigned "division 1 supervisor" and Chief 11 (McCormick) was assigned "division 2 supervisor". Search of the structure proved "negative" results, Fire was reported out within 30 minutes of this incident. Fire Marshal's Office on scene, Red Cross requested. There were no reported injuries' in this incident, units cleared the scene at 12:30 P.M.

June 16th UPDATE: Fire Marshal's Office has completed their investigation to the cause of the fire being "an overloaded power strip" in the covered exterior of the porch.
