This evening was a busy night for the Fire/EMS departments in Charles County. While the northside was on scene of a small structure fire, another structure fire was dispatched at approximately 8:40 PM from our 911 Center receiving numerous calls for a "fire in a garage" in the 5600 block of Super Street in the Bennsville community of Westlake. 57 Fire/EMS personnel from area departments from Charles, Prince George's County and NDW Indian Head responding. BC20 (Kaufmann) arrived on scene reporting smoke from side bravo and established command. Since the assignment was altered with units enroute, Command assigned incoming units responsibilities as they were staged on scene. E112 arriving on scene reporting small fire in garage, E112, E73, RE1, T11, T20 working together to extinguish the fire, secure sprinkler system and complete overhaul. Red Cross notified to assist residents, SMECO on scene. A "overloaded power surge protector" was the cause of this fire. Residence turned over to home owner, units cleared around 10:00 PM
