House Fire in Nanjemoy Brings 61 Fire/EMS Responders Answering the Call

Early evening an alert neighbor in the 8200 blk of Gilroy Road called 911 to report "her neighbors house was full of flames and the elderly women was inside". Nanjemoy Volunteers and area departments responded to this one alarm blaze to find a single story frame dwelling engulfed in flames. E42 made an aggressive attack with assistance from E83, E211, E12, SQ7, T20, and TW3. Command was established by Chief 4 (Siarkowski), and a water supply site was ordered. During the incident, crews were rotated for rehabilitation. Fire was under control in about 30 minutes, no fire personnel injuries were reported, the female occupant left the structure on her own and was transported via Trooper #2 to the regional burn center. Fire under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal
