On March 20, 2025, a house fire was reported to our 911 center at approximately 4:00 PM on Progress Court in the White Oak neighborhood.
Caller reported smoke emanating from a neighbor's roof. Upon arrival, firefighters observed smoke pouring from all sides of the home, with flames in the attic. Approximately 25 minutes into their response, a partial roof collapse was reported as crews worked to contain the blaze within the structure. Crews worked hard for just under 2 hours to put out this structure fire. SMECO and Washington Gas were on scene and the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating
